i dont want this building gone once its torn down what will i look at when i look out the window? an empty field of sadness!!

I have admired this building for many years, especially when I was commuting to Portland. I have always thought that the character if the building would lend itself well to being a a McMenamin's establishment.

Our past is in these architectural beauties. My family has been here since the 1800's. I just went out to sauvie island for the first time and this building caught my eye. Not understanding how someone of some cause could restore this beauty of a beast. It's a huge undertaking that would greatly benefit the community if restored and repurposed

I genuinely believe that all of the tearing down of local landmark signs, buildings, homes, communities, etc., is an attempt to erase the visual aids to memories that Portland would rather not discuss. Disappear the scenery, erase the memory, ignore the history. How many superfund sites are called out and then forgotten and developed anyway? I can think of at least one, maybe two in Northeast PDX. This is my favorite building, it was always all of our favorite building. Clean the site, leave the evidence. Too many demolished memories.
