I grow up across the river from this building. I seen it alot. Back then didn't know much about it but always LOVED the site of it. Now I live in St.Helens and every time I drive by it I always take the time to look at it. For some reason I have always been drawn to it. I always thought if I could buy that building I would. My thought were for a school or a place for people to go for shelter. I have always been drawn to that building. I still feel like it has a prepose and can do good for many. Not just that IT IS PART of PORTLAND OREGON.

love this building! i drive by it all summer going out to sauvie island and make up stories about it. when you take away these kinds of things from a city you diminish its beauty, history, and, as the result, it's solvency.

With all the new development going up, can't we preserve this piece of history?

New buildings do not show the care and craftsmanship as these old buildings do. Every effort should be made to preserve our past whenever we can. Once something like this is demolished you can never get it back... it is gone forever.

My grandpa worked somewhere near and around this area. As a kid we'd drive by and I was fascinated by the clock... Always reminded me of grandpa:)

Portland is known for beautiful history and architectural beauty because of our historic buildings. It would be a tremendous loss to tear this incredibly beautiful building down and replace it with the modern structure devoid of character. These buildings tell a story that all should be aware of and MANY find unbelievably fascinating. It inspires pride in the city and draws the history seekers. Please don't take away our footprint of our history and legacy. Otherwise, it will be forever lost.
This building is amazing and should be preserved for the future generations

This place is hauntingly beautiful, if only it could be spriced up there wouldn't be the hauntedness about it anymore.
