This beautiful structure should be preserved, its history shared, and the site could be turned into something akin to Gas Works Park in Seattle.

The restoration and repurposing of this beautiful building would be a wonderful way to capture a piece of Portland's history. It would be a shame to tear it down!

My daughter and I have had a fantasy going for years with regards to this building. We are in gorgeous flowing ball gowns, her's blue satin, mine red velvet, as we welcome the happy crowd to our bar and dinner/dance club each evening.

Trips out to Sauvie Island were always made better when we drive by this old beautiful builing. My mom and I still dream about buying it and turning it into a classy night club/hotel. If it's torn down I may never go to Sauvie Island again.

I love this building! I'm surprised McMenimans hasn't snatched it up yet!!! Restore it and use for an event space or historical tour. The companies that polluted should have to be responsible for clean up!
