No more Dorms. That land was put there for a specific purpose and is still being used every day. My Grandaughter is a student there.

As a student of College of Ag myself, I feel the need to say that taking away the land that makes Cal Poly Pomona unique just for more dorms is quite upsetting. I am all for supporting our Arabian horses to be able to run freely within the wide pasture

4th year, Agribusiness and Food Marketing Major, Current Agriculture Representative for the Equestrian Drill Team. The fact that the university decided not to tell us anything until years later about this construction project makes me feel like, we as students, had our right to be informed taken away by the university. This maddens me and at the same time saddens me to see that half of our pastures will be taken away. My primary reason for choosing Cal Poly was the horse unit and the pastures. There is nothing that makes me happier than seeing our horses run and play in the pastures. The thought of them not having the space to do that anymore saddens me very much. I have been out in the pastures and have worked with some of these wonderful horse as part of the CPP Equestrian Drill team and my education for about 4 years now. These pastures are not a waste of land, they are very useful to the horses living in them. I am pretty sure if someone randomly came up to whoever made this decision and told them that half of their home has to be demolished for something else, then they would protest to save their home. Cal Poly Pomona was entrusted the Arabian horses by Kellogg, and by taking away these pastures, that legacy is not being upholded. I sincerely hope with all my heart that they reconsider this project, even if it does seem like it is too late now to say anything.
