I was a part of many clubs and councils on campus. Because of the available facilities I was able to graduate with my Bachelor's in Agricultural Science and 2 credentials in agriculture in 5 years.

Current AVS student. The pastures are part of CPP history and the reason I enjoy attending this university; without the pastures, CPP becomes less of what it is known for--being an Agriculture campus that offers hands-on experience for its students.

I can't imagine seeing dorms where I'm used to seeing beautiful horses running around!!

Class of 2015 College of Business Administration and President and former Treasurer of the CPP Equestrian Drill Team. I've worked at the Horse Center and have many friends within the College of Agriculture. This school has a strong "Learn by Doing" philosophy and the foundation of this school was the College of Agriculture. The loss of these lands will mean an insurmountable loss for current and future students as they lose their classrooms and labs. CPP has always embraced the "quality not quantity" ideal of education and now, we are losing that trait with the development of our agricultural land. CPP has always embraced the "quality not quantity" ideal of education and now, we are losing that trait with the development of our agricultural land. Cal Poly Pomona has always had a "Learn by Doing" philosophy and emphasized quality over quantity. But now with the loss of our classrooms in the forms of the pastures and agricultural land, we no longer embody those values. Our horses need the space to grow and roam, and empty pastures does not mean unused land. As anyone who has learned something about agriculture will tell you, we need crop rotations and that's what we've been doing to try and keep our farm sustainable.
