The Parkway Drive in is in danger of being shut down due to light pollution from the proposed new Super Walmart, Walmart is slated to have 42 foot light poles which will bleach out the screen and put the Parkway Drive-In out of buisness please take a moment and sign the petition to try and keep a landmark where it belongs. Please keep in mind there are TWO super Walmart's within a 10 mile radius of the proposed new location.

We are grinding toward our first hundred signatures and need your help to cross that line. Post the link on Facebook right now so we can show the city how many people value our drive-in. Text this link to three neighbors who want to stop this unnecessary development.

New businesses need to exist harmoniously with existing businesses, not put them out of business. It's the community leaderships job to NOT approve a business plan that would damage another business. I'm sure there are other places they can build.
As a former walmart employee and Blount citizen, I say they need to back off. The have Maryville and Alcoa. Let this county landmark stand. Walmart preaches helping the local businesses, but instead they are seeking to run a great local business out.
The drive in is one of the last real family friendly activities that can get kids out of the house and enjoy summer! There are enough Walmarts in the area. No need to pollute this place with more mass commercial business. I support local businesses!
I've went to this for the past 18+ years of my life, I'm looking forward to taking my kids now that they're old enough and would be devastated if this happened its like taking away a apart of our childhood aside the fact we have two Walmarts already
This is a family tradition for me and my family. We already lost the Midtown location so we drive from Anderson County to visit. It would be devastating to the many families who frequent the nostalgic theater if we were to lose this location as well.
We have plenty of Wal-Marts. Stop this insanity.
A family favorite since our adult/teen children were small. We enjoy the quiet community, the slower pace atmosphere of this part of Blount Co, and providing lasting memories for our children equal to those of our childhood. I too know many who travel from other areas of the 865 area code every summer to this venue and we tell all summer visitors to our wonderful area about it for their summer experience in our great Smokies. Maryville has stopped several events recently. Are the governing bodies looking to change the long standing "small town" appeal of this town? A third Wal-mart and trying to "keep up with the more urban" neighboring cities give that appearance.

It's my understanding that there are already two Wal-Marts not far from this location. Why do we need a third?? Drive-In Theaters are a treasure, and are difficult to find anymore. The Parkway promotes fun, economical, quality time with families.
