I supportr the Outer Sunset Farmers Market and the benefits it brings to both the community and local farmers. I do not feel St. Ignatius has the right to make these demands. They are a private, non-tax paying entity in the sunset community, and they have extensive financial resources to find an alternative solution for their "problem".

This market has been one of the most important things for our community in a decade. I walk by SI every Sunday on my way to the market and the only SI traffic I see is students going to swim practice. I am sure there are special events that require more space but SI does not own these streets and they provide NO services to the neighborhood in exchange for the tracking, blocked driveways from student parking, noise and light pollution.

Sunset Mercantile has been fantastic, family-friendly farmers market and it would be a terrible loss to the Sunset to see it close.

Please renew the permits! For my family, for our neighbors whom we love, for the neighbors we have yet to meet, and for the vendors. The farmer’s market provides incredibly important access to fresh food and goods, financially supports hard-working vendors, farmers, and artisans in a difficult economy, facilitates a key outdoor environment for neighbors to meet and gather (particularly in the midst of pandemic that still keeps so many mostly indoors and isolated), and has become an established value-added feature to the Outer Sunset community as a whole. Year in and year out we as a neighborhood endure a lot from Saint Ignatius: extreme light pollution, noise pollution, diminished available parking, careless parking, blocked driveways and even the occasional minor hit-and-run from S.I. student drivers. I would urge the forces at S.I. working to shut down our market to additionally consider these factors, and embrace (even if likely done begrudgingly at best) the renewal of the permits as a gesture of good faith and good will to the neighborhood Saint Ignatius also calls home.

The market has been great for the neighborhood and had been a great way to support local and independent farmers and businesses owners

This market has been such an amazing addition to our community. Losing it to accommodate parking would be a major loss for the neighborhood and the city as a whole.

Shame on you, St. Ignatius. People are just trying to earn a living and provide healthy food for the community.
