We truly enjoy the Sunset Mercantile Farmers Market. It is an asset to the neighborhood and the SF community. We see visitors to SI enjoying the Farmers Market on special events days, and it's been heartwarming to see the young people enjoying the special foods available. We hope that SI will be a good neighbor in this matter and work out an agreeable solution for all. As neighbors we have lived for many years with the SI students parking in front of our homes and the accompanying congestion this brings throughout the school year. Consequences for us have been a lack of parking for family members and also service providers to our homes such as electricians, plumbers, carers, etc.

The Sunset Farmers Market & Mercantile has been the single most significant unifier of the community, in the dozen years I've lived in the Outer Sunset/Parkside neighborhood. As a vital economic and environmental (walkable and centralized) asset, this speaks to the core of the SFTMA’s strategic planning for the future. Do the right thing, renew the permit, and ensure of the vitality of the market.

The Outer Sunset farmers market serves the community, providing fresh produce, prepared foods, crafts, and entertainment for all ages. And dozens of small business owners rely on it for income. It draws visitors and dollars from other parts of the city and Bay Area. But mostly it’s a place where Sunset residents can walk to, do some shopping, eating, and socialize, all while enjoying the outside. Our neighborhood needs this farmers market.
