There are less than 1000 otter hounds in the world.They may be as old as the Babylonian empire. Add your name to this petition to try to save this wonderful breed. King James The First of England loved hunting with otter hounds. It was reported that “He loved the hunt more than church.” An otter hound survived a shipwreck off the coast of Maryland in 1807. They also have webbed feet and can swim for hours without stopping! After an otter hound turns one, it is actually 16 otter hound years old. 2 year old dogs are 24, and 3 year old dogs are 30. After that you add 5 years for each human year to find out the hounds age. They are great with kids, but many experts predict that they may become extinct in 10 years, so please add your name to this petition if you want the dog dubbed, “rarer than the giant panda” dog to be around for years to come.

They are such beautiful dogs. Cant believe they are actually rarer than pandas that is heartbreaking. Keep the breed alive!!
