The people at The Open Door do their best to serve an otherwise neglected population with care and respect. It's their neighbourhood as much as mine and they are absolutely needed here.

I am currently a student at McGill University, and I volunteered for Open Door last summer for 2 months.
I believe that Open Door MUST stay open one way or another for the local homeless population of Montreal!

I have seen first hand the work the Open Door does. They are unique, and provide a safe place for people who are not welcome at other shelters. The work they do is important and the city and its people will be at a loss if this organization is shut down.

As a worker in the community and having many clients benefit from the various services of the Open Door, this agency is an essential need to our marginalized and disadvantaged population. There is no other organization that our homeless clientele praises and feel safeer going to more than the Open Door, especially to our indigenous population. This agency needs to be saved, without any question in my mind!

By virtue of knowing a staff member of the Open Door I have heard stories of the incredible work that is done here in transforming the lives of low-income and street involved people. It would be a truly devastating blow to the people who depend on this service for it to need to shut down. Please save the Open Door!
