I am 56 and I have went to the offsets back in the day when it was private and not open to the public...It was and still is a great place to go and enjoy a summer day full of relaxation..floating and swimming and socializing with others...Shutting down the Offsets is not the cure to stupidness and carelessness of others. With my sympathy to the families of the few that have lost their lives there, in reality, it was the individuals actions that caused the tragedies...I back the petition of keeping the OFFSETS open to the public and that the responsibility of safety falls on the individuals who choose to go there and yes I plan on being one of those individuals,,.

This is a place that is privately owned and operated within the laws of the state and country. People are well aware of the risks when they enter. This is no different than going to any other place, privately owned or commercial! If just anyone can say that they don’t want something to remain in business because of one reason or another, then eventually there won’t be anything left in business, simply put- You cannot make everyone happy but the few who are unhappy cannot be allowed to shut a place down !

people die everywhere, it’s a part of life. You can choke on a banana, you can pee on an electric fence, even try to beer bong a gallon of everclear and die. some people aren’t bright and it’s natural selection but this is no reason to shut down (in my opinion) one of the most beautiful places in Missouri. KEEP OFFSETS OPEN!!! :-)

I went there last summer with my second family. This is a great cliff jumping spot, far more safer than other places I've been to. The water felt amazing, and if your not acting stupid then your fine. Stupid games wins stupid prizes, and stupid will always find another game.
