If hotels at airports can keep out plane noise, Westin can keep out music sounds. Get better engineers. In a lawsuit, Westin will have to admit they took sound levels before they built. A million dollar lawsuit is ridiculous. Somebody should start a GoFundMe account to help the NOOK with its legal fees.

I think it's hilarious that Westin would try to sue Nook. They're within city ordinance. You knew what you were doing building a hotel right next to an open air venue. Nook shouldn't have to pay for that. Our music district should have first priority, as it's the heart and soul of Austin. The absolute LAST thing we need is corporations coming in here trying to turn us into a Dallas. Good lord, NO.

I am in support of the Nook and their efforts to comply with COA sound ordinance. They have showed ample effort to work with the Westin and comply accordingly. Please contact me with any further questions and hearing dates.

Westin should foot the bill for any post construction changes they request.

The Westin knew what it was getting into when it decided to build next to these existing businesses. Take your bullying somewhere else. The music belongs here.

The Westin knowingly built their hotel in an area that is known for playing live music. Live music is one of the things that make Austin the city that it is not hotel buildings like the Westin. Taxpayers support the city not corporations who just want to use our city's culture for profit.

You big Corp. are killing my son and his partners dream! The Nook sat as a brick wall for almost a decade in disrepair and they had a vision to make it different from all the others bars.
You are trying to bully your way into sueing them because YOU DID NOT do your due diligence! You knew there was a very successful bar there. So, you messed up, NOT The Nook. This is the music capitol of the world and that very sign is in the bar now! Austin is weird and too bad you are NOT!

The Westin is grossly out of line in this instance. Whoever's decision it was to pursue legal action has opened themselves a can of worms. Leave our music alone!

The sound proofing in this building was built to minimum requirements. You can hear traffic from 5th while standing inside their ballrooms. The westin was built cheap and fast.

The westin's lawsuit is a fraudulent abuse of the court system. The Nook operates WITHIN LEGAL limits. If the hotel's business is suffering, it's their own fault for picking a less than optimal location to site their business.
