Westin new what they were getting themselves into when they built the damn eyesore of a hotel. It's not right for a global conglomerate to come in and try to change the way this city lives and what it is and has been known for. Don't let the corporate bully beat up the local business owners who are the backbone, soul, and spirit of Austin.

The Westin chose to put their hotel in an area known for nightlife and loud music. They have used poor judgment. Their problems are their own fault and this lawsuit is ridiculous.

Please don't allow corporate interests to supersede Austin's already struggling music culture.

To whom it may concern,
Building in the middle of the Austin music scene and selling yourself as being in the middle of the music scene gives you a responsibility to honor the music scene and respect your neighbors choices.
Add more sound barriers to your structure. Sell those rooms at a discounted rate, letting guests know they may get to hear music for free. Turn the worst rooms into common areas like computer labs, libraries, and snack zones.
Do this lawsuit and demonstrate how a big girl should act to protect the city it joins.

Its no surprise that music venues will produce noise, and they should not be punished for it. Restricting music venues will hurt the overall district and music scene, not just an individual venue.

Sorry your soundproofing company ripped you off, Westin Austin Downtown. Suing a venue that was there before your hotel that has a permit to operate as they do is not the solution.

Save the Nook. Keep Austin the way it is. Obviously the Westin tried to jump off the back of the Nook for business. now it wants to push that business out. No way. Keep Austin weird. That is what Austin is. Keep it that way.

Duh. Live music venues that were there first should have the "right of way". You build in the music district, you yield to the noise ordinances. Don't expect the rules to change for you.

The Westin should be closed down for doing something like this. Our city needs to stop this from continuing. Austin is changing and not for the better.

Sounds like you've done more than enough to help resolve the issue. Now they need to invest and do their part...by contributing money or making improvements to their own space to make the rooms more soundproof from the noise coming from outdoor venues
