Played here for SXSW the very first year they opened! Will always support music over uninvited corporate greed.

Seriously? Maybe you shouldn't put a hotel there is you or your guests don't like it. Music is allowed till 2am and bars get out at 2am. It's going to be noisy!! Sounds like Westin didn't do their research and is now trying to change how our city operates. Nope.

The music was there before the hotel...They chose to build know the Nook and other bars where there. You go downtown and you expect the loud music ...You stay in a hotel near sixth street and you should expect it to be loud...

I am born & raised in Austin, TX. Been here over 30 years. I am not a bitter Austinite about the growth of our city (even though traffic is horrible) and I welcome anyone that moves here with true Texas hospitality, but it really disgusts and disappoints me when other bigger corporations come in and want to change what Downtown Austin is all about - LIVE MUSIC. Westin, whyyyyy did you choose that location?? You could have picked ANY other part of central Austin close enough to downtown but far enough to not disrupt what was there long before you showed up. Don't gentrify my neighborhood! Live music for life!

The noise ordinance should not apply to the dt area. It is killing the city!! If people want to build dt then they should sound proof their buildings plain and simple.

You can't build (or buy) next to an established music venue and then complain. This has happened all over Austin and I'm tired of it! Businesses (and people) like the Westin are ruining Austin. So much for being the live music capital...

I grew up in this city, and for my 27 years, Austin has been known to be noisy downtown because of the live music. We invited it, and that's why people visit here in the first place. Westin should not advertise what this city is known for, and then sue against what they're trying to capitalize on. Sadly just another example of a huge corporation trying to rip the heart of the city out of it's chest. Who was there first?

Westin Hotel should have known better when they moved here...Austin Texas is define as the music captial and we would like to keep it that way.. By taking the music sound away you will be driving people away from Austin especially the people who travel so far to be here in Austin even celebrities. Not only will Austin lose its weirdness and coolness that so many people travel far to small businesses around Austin will also lose revenue...
