Venues such as the Nook are what make Austin, Austin. No one should be allowed to come into a landmark area and demand it change to this extent. The Westin would be wise to target the rooms to tourists who visit Austin for the music. If they have guests visiting for business, book them in a room on the opposite side. They should not be allowed to bully small businesses that happen to be apart of historic significance. Keep Austin Weird.

Perhaps the Westin should have paid more attention to the area they were moving into. You can't buy a house near the airport and expect the planes to stop flying, or next to a school or park and expect the children to tiptoe around.

This is old news and very ridiculous. The entertainment district has had numerous live music venus and bars with the sole intent of playing loud music for decades. So if you don't like loud music, then don't move or build a bushiness near them. They were there first, plain and simple. It's moronic and idiotic to move next/near a place that is open late hours and plays live music and then whine like a baby.
