Being called a brave is not a derogatory term. This is a term of honor and endearment respectfully towards the American Indian tribes of the Sussex county area.

We are of some native american descents. Cherokee and Apache. We are proud of our heritage and the Newton Braves. We are hopeful that the BOE stands strong as Brave and keeps the mascot!!!
