Save the Newton Brave

An Indian Brave is a warrior. And every student who has walked through the halls of Newton High School for over 100 years, is a warrior, in their own right. They come from every race, creed, religion, and background. They are a tribe, a family. Doesn't matter if you graduated in 1920 or 2020. Carrying on the traditions of the Lenape Indians that once lived in this region, this is a way to celebrate their legacy. It is not meant to be derogatory towards them. It is to say we carry on their spirit, with Pride, Dedication, and a commitment to our families and our community, as they did.

This is totally ridiculous and part of the history in newton. Fighting like a Brave to win sports has nothing to do with any current movement from left extremists trying to ruin this country.

We should change the name at the same time we change the names of Mahwah Parsippany Rockaway Lake Hopatcong you get the idea. If we can name of town after Native Americans we can name a team.

No where does the brave head symbolize anything but a positive image for everyone nothing discriminatory involved with this symbol of Newtown pride.
