I see this handsome strong Brave as an homage to the original people of New Jersey, the Lenni Lenape. After their near extinction from smallpox & wars, they still survive today. Their proud heritage & history should never be erased, & our children should be encouraged to emulate their bravery, respect for the land, animals & nature, & inclusion of women in tribal hierarchy. They are the original progressives. Let’s not bow to the ignorance of the minority mob who do not know history & are therefore doomed to repeat it. Let’s forever honor “the people” as they called themselves, by keeping their heritage alive!

The Newton mascot has been apart of decades of generations and many students. The community always comes together in the midst of tragedy of a student, parent ot teacher. We are all so proud past, present and future to wear Newton Brave clothes. This is ridiculous and no one has ever seen it as raciest in all my years living in town. The definition of "brave" goes handed in handed with the indian mascot as a positive never a negative.
