I grew up a Brave all my young life. I went to college in Upstate NY and never left, BUT I have always been and will always be, a Brave ❤️. "Trust, Respect, and Support (+Attitude)"

Standing up and fighting for your rights and whst you believe in is not easy.. Its easy giving up, letting people take away your beliefs and rights

Do not let these few people destroy our mascot and country. We need to fight back. This mascot offends no one.

I feel as if though this has been our mascot for years even when my mom went to newton high school, and as a newton brave i feel hurt that our mascot has to be taken down because some people may think this is racist. I was born and raised as a brave and after I graduate in a couple years i will forever be a brave and i will always want to remember that mascot. It’s silly for people to take that down and ruin something that made us a family. FORVER AND ALWAYS A BRAVE!!!

This has got to be the most uneducated move I’ve heard so far. The fact that they have already taken down the Brave that identifies our Alma Matter is very disappointing. Don’t let this happen Newton!!

The Brave is not racist. It refers to being strong.

My mom taught at Newton HS for 20 years & would be saddened if the Braves were removed. I was a ball boy in the mid 80’s for the varsity football team. I will always consider myself a “Brave”.

Our children have grown up being Newton Braves...we have moved out of State but will always consider Newton Braves our family...this is just nonsense to change our mascot

In a cowardly move, without input from the community, it looks like our logo has already been taken down from the high school. We are teaching our children that the voices of the majority don’t matter, & to bow down to the mob. That is the opposite of what it means to be a Brave. What a sad day.

We live in an American Indian area and are proud of that. The Braves honor the indigenous people that still inhabit the area.

If the Atlanta Braves are still the Braves ,our Braves should still be the Braves of Sussex County
