Native Americans are not complaining about the Atlanta Braves because it’s a tribute to their culture...so is the Newton Brave a proud tribute to the culture. A proud symbol of strength and courage. Save the Brave from extinction!!

Being a Newton Brave is a source of pride based in tradition, community and friendship. Racism has no place here.

now you wanna care about the Natives when they’re being respected as Braves but won’t care about them and their land when we settled, killed and stole from them. AND ITS STILL HAPPENING TO NATIVE AMERICANS TODAY!! So instead of changing a school mascot how about going to help the REAL racism happening towards them in this country

People do NOT pick mascots to disgrace anyone, they pick them to honor them and be proud of the spirits the represent!

How sad it’s even being considered a negative. A sense of pride for so many regardless of race or religion.

Why are you trying to take away a symbol of pride from native Americans. This is not racist there are derogatory words or diminishment of a proud culture.

I am glad to sign this petition. What I can't understand is who these people are, or think they are, to decide for everyone what is racist. I say it isn't racist and never ever thought of the word Braves to be so.
