This name change consideration is absurd. I’m proud to be a Braves alumni and my children are proud to be a Brave! Plus, if this happens who is going to pay for all the new sports uniforms? We taxpayers pay enough already!

As a life time Sussex County resident I can honestly saw that the Newton Brave stood for a proud group of students, parents and community members. Anyone who knew or knows anyone who attended NHS knows that symbol represents PRIDE. Most of our families started at NHS before other schools in the county were built.

Someone is going to be offended no matter what the community does. It's not racist and what offends me is someone thinking of changing this because they do not know the meaning behind it.
