The fact that the mascot is a Native American does not make it racist. The fact that the "Braves" are a positive and uplifting symbol of the plight of the underdogs is what has given NHS it's character for so many years. Don't change that!!!

Taking down these monument all over the us is not right we here in our town in AR ours is staying right where it belongs you cant erase history if you do think of it this way erase your family history from generation to generation. And your grandchildren great granchildren will no nothing about you

The mascot of the brave is an honorific and a sign of bravery, courage and a warrior status. To take away the honor of the Native Lenape in this way is derogatory and grossly privleged in a far more insidious way.
Keep Newton home of the Braves.
