I became a music educator because I had the experience of singing in the choir under the direction of John Leavitt, accompanied by Carole Pracht. The music at Newman U literally changed the direction of my life. It would be a travesty and would very much show the values of the University if it were to lose its outstanding music department. Deanne and Carole are two of Wichita’s finest musicians.

I know multiple people in the Newman Music who are all very talented. If this program goes away, Newman would be sad to lose all that potential for them.

might as well cut all the arts from Newman University at this point and make it a trade school. What sort of liberal arts education can you really say Newman has if we don't have music?

Music is and has been a critical ministry in the Catholic Church, why would a Catholic educational institution drop an important department? It doesn't make sense.
