To cut a music department cuts out such a rich part of Newman culture. Even community colleges recognize the importance of music.

As a past Newman student, having a music program offered was important in my college choice. It is also important to offer a diverse education and one which supports a variety of students. Many students will continue to include music in their post college life-through recreation, church, etc.

Music is the Holy Spirit... He would not be happy. Remember...,”He who sings prays twice “??? NOT just a passing thought . Turn it over to Jesus.... with faith and trust . The funding will come

Powers that be: PLEASE don’t do this! The Fine Arts Departments are safe havens for many people that find themselves “at risk” in some way. They find inclusion and family where they may not have that otherwise. I shouldn’t even need to address the amazing publicity given to the community in such a beautifully talented way! It is NOT a cost to the University, it is an INVESTMENT that provides invaluable returns!!

It is hard to think of Newman and not also think of the troubadours. Music has always been an intrical part of Newman and its atmosphere.

Some of the Troubs sang at my daughter's wedding. Really made it a memorable event. Please save the music Dept.
