Music should be part of all schools, it help with Mental Health, wellbeing, support as a group, entertaining , and give those involved a purpose.

This is a shame. This is an area that constantly gets neglected in education. The program not only gives kids a finical backing even though it's small helps them achieve their goal of a good education. This is a shame on Newman and the administration running it.

Keep music in schools! Music is such an important outlet for people of all ages not to mention the scientifically proven benefits that it can have on the mind. I completely disagree with this choice and I encourage you (Newman) to rethink the decision as well

Quite honestly, I am very disappointed in Newman for cutting off the music department. It is unacceptable and shows the negligence of people in charge.

This department made a huge impact on my three years at Newman University. Mrs. Zoglemann and Mrs. Pracht have done a wonderful job making all student feel welcome and allows them to express their love for music. To cut this department would mean taking away a great opportunity for future students!!

Music is the language of our universe. NU is a catholic university. "Catholic" means universal, all-embracing. As such, music shall be an embracing medium by which NU attracts new students and retains alumni.

I came to Newman for the theater and music departments. Although I have fallen in love with the departments associated with my majors (criminal justice and psychology), that does not change the reason I chose this university to begin with. To lose such a major joy in my own life and others' lives would be devastating. To tear apart the family we have built and the atmosphere that we surround ourselves with would be a huge blow to the Newman community.

The Newman University Music Department has been there for me whenever I felt as if no one was. Music is our way of connecting to each other and understanding what lies beneath, taking that away impedes future generations of discovering themselves

The music department at Newman provided me with a well rounded aspect to my college education and was more important to me than any sporting event. I feel like cutting the music program will decrease the positive impact that Newman University provides to the community. I feel like this is a horrible decision and will decrease the appeal of Newman University to local prospective students.

How is it even possible to delete an entire Music Department from a "Liberal Arts" College? Without music, you will no longer have "a strong liberal arts foundation" - one of your own stated "Core Values".

At one time, John Leavitt, Christian music composer taught at Newman. Please consider that legacy and the recent fantastic shows Deanne Zogleman has directed. The music department continues to influence and entertain.

My science education from NU got me to where I am today. But the music department MADE me who I am today. It was the also the primary reason I chose to attend NU over other state universities. This would be such a devastating loss.
