I'm from the class of 1969. We always treated our mascot with total respect and reverence. I feel it would be a disservice to the history of all the students. I would hate to see the school mascot that I respected and held special a special place in my memories. Please keep in mind that about a month ago and dealing with the Dakota pipeline that the entire Indian Nation of this country when interviewed by national media of all types that day also repeatedly used the word Indian. It was even used by the leader of all Nations and tribes also use the word Indian when referring to his people. I do have an important question for the board and committees . How many if any members of the Indian Nation and what was their response if any. again let me say in the strongest terms I am totally against mascot.

Class of 2010, Napa INDIAN for life. That will not change just because others wish to change the mascot. Also, im native American and i have no quarrel with the mascot being an Indian. I actually personally took pride in the fact that my heritage was celebrated at the high school I attended. One last thing, that $700 letterman jacket in my closet, with one of the original Indian logos on the back; do i just throw it away?

Yeah, This PC Liberal crap needs to stop. The school system needs to stop trying to make things issues when in reality no one cares or wants the changes. Its no wonder why so many millennials are snowflake pussies. You make them think EVERYTHING is bad and if its not PC they have a right to be upset and start uproar. Im a napanee indian, i also am 1/8 sioux indian from the lakotas, i have and my family have never been affended by the mascot, napa high has legacy and its legacy is being a napanee indian alumni! The tiled indian still resides i. The administrationbuilding and still respected to this day, absoulutely no body walks on our indian!

Why not use the extensive research that the Red Skins did? It took them years to do it. The Native people of this land do not find offense in schools or sports using Native American mascots. I assume that's why you think you should change such a rich and long tradition.
