I'm from Napa, this is ridiculous even though I attended Vintage HS the Napa Indians have been such for so long and have been fine! Why make a change now? School board, please, keep the Indian!

As a person of Native American heritage, I am proud to be a Napa High Indian (class of 60). As parent of two former "Crushers" I question the use of a mascot promoting alcohol and violence far more than a historically mistreated, but proud ethnic group.

Ridiculous. With so many real problems in today's world, the small minded and misguided pick a cause that will make no difference and only harm our educational system by placing an undue financial burden on it. We should all be ashamed if we let these few vocal minorities hi-jack the process.

The person who organized the ad hoc cmmittee without public input and facilitated it's secret meetings should no longer be involved in the NUSD. The Indian is a cherished symbol that is not offensive to anyone let alone our native indigenous community.
