The Indian has been our tradition. I have not herd anything about the Indians objecting in mass.

Please leave our mascot alone, it has a lot of meaning to everyone who went to Napa High. The Indian mascot has always been thought of with respect. Please spend your time on more important school issues.

I am a proud 1992 Napa Indian alumni. In 1992 our graduating class put the Indian front and center on the cover of our yearbook. They had removed the Indian painting/mural from the historical NHS building entrance. There is absolutely no way to ever make everyone in a community happy. Changing our mascot takes away a piece of our own history.

As the saying goes"if it ain't broke , don't fix it. If it was a problem in the 60s people would of protested
. But to be p c orrrcet,. It doesn't matter their are more important things to worry about in the world than the name of a school mascoy.

Class of 73 When I went to NHS there weren't vary many indian students. The ones I knew weren't offended to be called an indian. The faux outrage over this seem to be a way younger generation. I was proud to have these people as friends. I don't claim to speak for them , however I don't think that they were ever bothered by our mascot. I don't believe that they would be concerned now. We would be denying them of their past and heritage too ! Don't bow down to this p.c. crap..........

I have an antique wooden one from when my mom graduated NHS 1940...I am a 69 grad.....its been a great mascot for so long...please leave it alone.

This is an honor to native Americans. I have Native American in my blood and love that this name has honored the Native American culture for years... this name has been around Napa for years and of course we all grew up with it. Do. Or change it... people went to school here and were proud to be a Napa Indian... don't change this name.. don't take away more of napa's history.

You can't change the mascot my entire family has gone to Napa High the Indian is a legacy a tradition you can't just change it cause you feel like it.
