My initial concern is that I wonder how many board members as well as their "selective" committee are graduates of Napa Union High School or Napa Senior High School or of Napa High School. Obviously none of them "have a clue". The school's mascot was named out of respect and honor of our area's native Americans the Wappo Indians. It is totally and completely wrong to even consider changing the long tradition of remembering these people..............Tom Malloy ,vice-president Napa High Class of 1960

I really don't know if signing this petition will do any good. I think its a done deal. If a few want it gone, then it will be gone. BUT those of us that have gone to the school have all shown the Napa High Indian Mascot Respect, always. If we didn't it would have been trampled on. People today are just trying to find to many things to complain about.

I was a member of the NHS class of 1948, and a proud Indian. Do not change the Indian mascot, please. Supposed political correctness is not appropriate in this issue.

This is so wrong Napa high has always been the Indians. Grandparent went there when they where in school it's such a big part of Napas history. It should stay that way .

When we toured the NHS building instinctively everyone parted going through the doors. NO ONE walked on the Indian, not then, not now!! We respected tradition and heritage.

It is honoring our ancestors and former land owners to keep the Napa High School Indian Mascot. All my children are graduates.

Why should a minority group decide the fate of our Mascot. I though the majority ruled.

This is ridiculous that we even have to sign a petition. But I will all day every day. NVUSD appears bias against the Napa High Indians.
