Please let us keep our Indian mascot! We aren't disrespectful; we honor the Indian mascot tradition and have always been proud to be called the Napa Indians. I graduated in 1965 with over 900 graduates, and we had our 50th reunion in 2015, attended by hundreds of classmates and families. We are all still very proud of it!

Someone with Legal connections in Napa need to seek advise from a Lawyer or Judge on filing an injunction and Law Suit against whomever is pushing the destruction of our Mascot !!!

I am a Napa High graduate of Clas 1952 my two sons and grandson also graduated from Napa High and it is rediculas that you are even considering dropping the Indian Mascot it is not racism it is an honor

The school was not named to disrespect anyone. We need that name. It is just like a historical landmark. You cant change it so someone else can make money off of all of this. Such bull.

I do not want any self serving group of people coming to Napa High and imposing their agenda on the Napa School Board regarding the Napa High Mascot. There have been thousands of students graduate from Napa High while having the mascot as a treasure for the school. Our mascot is tradition, and I find it hard to believe anyone who is a past student alumni would want that tradional mascot removed. Sincerely. Herb Jensen

I didn't go to school at Napa High but all my children did. I don't understand at all the fuss over wanting the Indian gone. It's a symbol of courage, strength and wisdom. Who would be offended by that?

The image is proud and not racist. If there are objections to the name, change it to Warriors or Braves or even the Napa Wappos. (Didn't Justin-Siena go through this years ago over "Braves"?)

What Indian tribe has complained about our having a NAPA Indian as our mascot?? The town and the river are named after those Indians, maybe we need to change the names so they won't show disrespect to them? As a member of the class of '65 I can never remember a time the Indian was used or referred to with anything but respect. The board needs to consider: Why stop now?

I support the endeavor to maintain the Napa High School 'Indian' mascot. I was a 1972 graduate of Napa Sr. High and we always admired and respected the Napa High Indian.
