The Beating Drum is the Premier Native American radio show in America that is preserving positive Native American imagery in sports and mainstream, as Many communities across the country have been targeted by groups like Not Your Mascots, NAACP and may others to change the names and icons of their beloved sports teams, by falsely claiming these names and images are racist and derogatory towards Native Americans. It’s time we bring the fight to these groups, and help communities by educating them to the truth, as well as dispel the misinformation being presented to them. I well understand the sentiment surrounding removing the Indian Mascot....but, the sentiment seems to be coming largely from people who either don't/didn't attend NHS or who don't/didn't have students at NHS.....how about taking their feelings more into account before any decisions are made?

I GUESS IF THE INDIAN PEOPLE ARE SO DISTRESSED WITH US HAVING AN INDIAN MASCOT.THEN I WONT BE SEEING ANYMORE FULL DRESS PARADES ANYMORE. AS THAT MIGHT BE CONSIDERED OFFENSIVE TO US.

My whole family graduated Napa High starting in 1941.. We were very proud to be a Napa Indian. They need to let the people vote.
