As a former "Napa Indian" I recall nothing but the utmost respect our student body had for our mascot, and no one dare step on our Indian seal.

Napa High's Indian mascot has always been a symbol of honor, pride and respect. Keep it that way.

How many generations would suffer by extinguishing a common bond, tradition, and honor bestowed when our founders sent all of their young impressionable children to learn and grow as Napa Indians? This was never disrespectful, harmful, or wrong. Something so entrenched within our culture and history should never be so easily discarded by a passing fad. We are proud to be called Napa Indians and will support future generations of Napa Indians. There is no disgrace, no dishonor, or disrespect here, then, now, or future. But to throw away our history for the passing of a careless few who have yet to provide any evidence other than to run off at the mouth, would certainly be a dishonor and disrespectful to all of us, past, present, and future Napa High Indians.

Graduated from Napa High in 1960, great to see the Indian seal.

I graduated in 1959. We showed respect for the Indian by not stepping on it. We had to walk around him. He is in our history, don't destroy that.

PLEASE keep the Napa Indian name and symbol. In this era of 'political correctness', maybe we should take a step back and consider the 100+ years of Napa High INDIANS.

Please leave our mascot name alone! If you on the board never went to Napa High you do not know how proud we are to be called "Napa Indians". There is NOTHING derogatory about this name, only pride and love!

For those of us that went to Napa High 40+ years ago, we would like to see the symbol stay the same. It is an important part of our heritage. Please save the Indians!

Having spent my life in Napa knowing that many names of streets etc were in honor of Native Americans I can only say that it was an honor to be a Napa High school Indian, Representing strength & virtue shown by the Native American Indians. My children, nieces, nephew, in laws, brothers in law, friends have all been very proud to represent the "Indian"!

The movement to change the school mascot is a complete waste of time, money. There is nothing disrespectful about the mascot.
