Town planning ordinances need to be revised and updated to include tiny house communities. Seriously, we are in the 21st century; so I would expect that urban planners and planning policy would be progressive and inclusive of diverse communities!

Please let the little house stay where it is at. They are trying to make life better for all of us. I applaud this family for doing what is awesome. God Bless You and I am praying for a positive outcome as should be it.

Ripon wants more tax revenue and I would suspect this might be part of the reason

The Mustard Seed tiny home should remain where it is. If anybody purchases land and wants to build a home on it the size should not matter. The Tiny House Movement is a movement of people looking to better the land and environment by making a smaller environmental footprint. Others have found that it is very easy to downsize into a smaller living space and in doing so they find they are much happier and closer as a family. I think cities and states need to look into this new housing development issue and understand that the old standards do not fit today's needs and demands; tiny houses can only help everyone involved.

please do a little more research on this family. They actually have 3 children. The third one was abandoned by them because of his mental health issues. This is a real life Elmer Gantry family. For a Pastor he is not a very good Christian.

I am a residential energy professional for 40 years, and have been an advocate of low-impact housing and have been in a leadership position in the energy conservation movement in Wisconsin. Ripon must not penalize these pioneering folks who are "ahead of the curve". Clinging to out-dated models and code regulations determining what a "compliant" dwelling is, speaks to lack of vision and creative expression. This house should be a source of community pride and forward thinking! Is not the Wisconsin motto "Forward"?

The home is on private property on twenty acres of land. I say ease up Ripon, live and let live.

This is ridiculous kilgore. stuff your ordinance. This is why I took my taxes out of Ripon to homestead and raise my family.

Hey I admire you guys for going tiny. It's not for me, but it's a wonderful solution for some people! Feel free to email me if there is anything I can do to help, I live in Ripon and would be more than happy to help your family be able to stay. Maybe you can even start a tiny house community!
