Kids need the arts, it teaches them so much. do not cut this program

The arts or just as essential as math, science and ELA. This is unacceptable. It also does not align with the district’s strategic plan. This decision shows complete ignorance and lack of respect for a comprehensive education..

The arts. We can’t have a civil society without the arts. What were you thinking?????

This year has shown how important the arts are in keeping people sane. If you deem this program unworthy then go home to enjoy TV, movies, ANY form of art, then you are hypocrites.

Many life skills are learned thru participation in theatre and chorus: confidence, team work, responsibility. I have been fortunate to attend the theatre productions and all school concerts. It is remarkable what Andre Arsenault and Mr Mendina accomplish with their students. Every bit as impressive and improved as sports art music library to name a few programs. Students need constructive activities for their growing minds, emotions, and bodies as well as learning Math and LA.

Theatre in schools = child development

"Is we get rid of the arts then what are we fighting for?"

Please. This matters.

Please do not cut theatre. Kids need something to look forward to in high school.

As a former Mt. Hope Parent whose child benefited greatly from this program, assisted in making her who she is today, in which I could not be more proud. This program helped these students become who they are today. Well rounded adults, contributing to society. Taught them to work together and support each other's talents, gave them a sense of belonging and accomplishment from participating in something extremely special.

What the world needs now more than ever are teachers building empathetic, compassionate, creative global citizens. The arts are what encourage that behavior in children. It should be the last thing cut.

Unbelievable! Stay fighting for your dreams!

Theatre is a passion for many students. They have an opportunity to blossom into who they are. I wouldn’t want that to be taken away from anyone.

I have attended many excellent, high quality, impressive plays and musicals at Mt. Hope High School. Theatre, as well as music, sports, robotics, etc.. produce well-rounded students by bringing out the best in them. Taking away any life-learning lesson from students would be devastating.

Keep Theater! We NEED THE

BHS/MHHS 1992-1997 Theatre all 4 years of high school Make it work and find the money.

If the concern fir the students is learning loss, why eliminate a program internationally proven to enhance academic performance and social emotional learning?

This department creates well rounded people. It is important to keep it.

Theater is an integral part of the identity of many in the student body. It can not be removed.
