This is such a disservice to our youth. They have been through so much this past year and need this social interaction with their peers and get some normalcy back into their lives. Shame on the committee for even considering this. This town blows money on one of those 4 wheelers with a custom paint job to tote around their K-9 dog when they have large SUV's among a slew of other patrol cars but let's take activities away from our youth? How does any of this make sense?Bristol's Leadership needs to get their "ACT" together!

Theater is an important part of education as it is a way to encourage students who showcase their talents through acting, articulating dialogues, singing, and dancing besides learning classics and modern plays, interacting with peers in a non traditional classroom environment where there is encouragement, development of skills, development of long lasting friendships, and beautiful memories. This is an integral part of education as much as sports and other extra curricular activities. Please reconsider this and keep Theater in Mount Hope School.

Theatre is crucial with building self confidence, public speaking, improving social interaction and the overall positive impact on the social emotional well being of students. As a parent of a theatre kid i see how this has led to her many successes in the creative arts as well as helped to form professional relationships along the way.

I think this is a narrow minded attempt to make the point that the Superintendent is unhappy with not being fully funded. The theater department is a very important part of an education, mentally and socially. I think cutting this program is a disservice to the children.

Theater is, in itself, much more than acting.
It's development of character, it's a developmental opportunity of us here at Mt. Hope that should be available to all other students, worldwide. The opportunities don't stop at acting, there are musical performances, singing, tech, e.t.c that goes into all of it. The incompetence of the District to make decisions that have poorly reflected financially that have lead to initial idea of removing this curriculum is not at the fault of the students, and should not be reflected in depriving students. It is implausible that this cut is the only way to provide relief, and such considerations should not be entertained.
Cuts will not stop at Acting if these decisions are made. By allowing the committee this decision, it provides the ability to continue to make cuts in other departments, and this will drive on until it is met with proper action.
