I am devastated for the students. They did this at Coventry High. A show was cancelled the night before opening because of the pandemic. Those kids who worked so hard in a after school program suffered lingering withdrawal! Theatre is a drug for kids who need to feel they belong! Wake up school departments and committees. ,

That department along with the music department’s completely made me feel like if I need a place to go for help or and advice even with other classes that was the place. The theater department brings so much joy to its students.

Pablo Picasso said "Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life".....and theater is critical to the appreciation of art and the enrichment of life. Save this program!

Kids need theater. You are basically taking away one of the few creative outlets children have. The mental health of our children is at risk. They have had such a terrible year because of the pandemic and you want to take away one of the joys they have. Don't worry I will remember this come election time. This is a disgrace.

Theater and the other arts are essential just as much as Maths, Reading, Writing, History and Science! There are a number of life skills learned in these programs that aren't able to be taught in core classes.

The arts program at mount hope has always received the short end of the stick. I have met some of the most talented artists at this school, yet, they are never given access to their full potential. i have never been to a school without a theatre program, even in extremely adverse situations. Fix this. do better. the art program deserves just as much (if not more) funding than athletics
