Performing arts is a critical component to student happiness and success. Some kids only get themselves to school in the morning to perform and be in a creative environment. Don’t take away what helps them be more well-rounded, empathetic people (also there is TONS of research on benefits of music and theatre in schools, please look into it).

Please do not cut the amazing Theater program at MHHS! So many students gain life-long skills and lessons from their theater experience. We retain students because we offer robust, high-interest opportunities for student to pursue their talents. The consequences of cutting theater will be detrimental for students an our school culture.

I hope the school committee will reconsider eliminating this program and position. It provides a necessary creative haven for students who might not fit in elsewhere. It is essential to offer this safe and creative space...essential.

Please do not terminate the drama club and the yearly performance. These kids are talented and drama is a great outlet. The students deserve to participate in such a wonderful experience.
