All you people saying, oh it’s vital and needed are full of crap. It’s not vital to life, never have I heard somebody say “well darn it I can’t make it to the theatre.” If it was actually vital more kids would take it.

Performing arts was a place that was home to me in high school at Mt. Hope, I found many great friends, learned discipline and hard work, and gained many skills that are still vital to me this day. Shame on the school district for attempting to cut these important programs.

Getting rid of this is absolutely maddening. This art form is what our kids need it’s a form of expression it helps them with anxiety depression and if they’re not in sports this is livelihood

Arts in general and theatre in particular should be a vital part of any academic experience. Skills learned in these programs are essential stepping stones to developing good communication and confidence for the future. And shame on you if you cuts arts and not equally do away with athletic programs. Please reconsider this decision.

The arts are a necessity to a student's learning environment. Even if you believe that there's no educational value it still could play a role in getting many students scholarships that they may need to attend college. I don't believe it's any less important than the other extracurriculars that the school offers.

Theater is so important to my boyfriend to goes to
Mount Hope! I find it to be so important in my life as well! It connects kids and gives them social skills they will use for life!

There needs to be some way to keep this program as it will negatively impacts students if is not continued. What about fundraising?? Grants??
