The will come a need for civic space and then you will be faced with a huge bill to build a soulless box that will be an eyesore. It's your history you can't get back once it's gone.

Why spend excessive amounts of capital on a limited budget when a perfectly suitable property exists in town? Save the school and repurpose!

I am not be a local tax payer, however I did attend this school as a child and dis many of my family members. It broke my heart when I saw the condition of it on a visit home 15 years ago. The cost of over $500 per square foot seems foolish. I my input means anything then I hope that reasonable budget can be determined to provide such a valuable need in the community.

My Mom was one of the wonderful teachers at Middle Haddam School. I was a kindergartner there. Please save this beautiful property and preserve its rich history!

It would be wonderful to see the old building brought back into use for a civic purpose. They don't build them like that anymore, and with the town's need for additional space, it seems like there would be quite a few potential uses for it.

As an architect and preservationist I implore you to adaptively reuse the Middle Haddam School building. I have visited the site on numerous occasions and recognize its great potential to be beautifully and functionally re-purposed by the town. Please don't let this historic asset deteriorate any further. Save it!

I am only 9 years old and never went to the school, but I live just up the street and pass by the building every time I walk to the river with my babysitter. I think it is beautiful and love playing in its fields. I hope that the town will fix it so that my friends and I can go inside one day. I wish that it was my school!
