I chose to live in Middle Haddam because of its historic charm. Please do not allow a generic housing development within the Historic District.

It concerns me that developers can withdraw proposals and resubmit new ones this close to a hearing. How easy for the developer to do and how incredibly hard for anyone who opposes to reorganize on such short notice. It’s absolutely unfair to allow this application to even be considered at this hearing on April the 7th.

Once again, a developer wants to destroy the historical qualities and the natural beauty of this small, quaint section of town. As usual, this developer cares nothing for the people or the impact and heartache he is causing anyone. You would never know that he grew up among these people. Shame on him.

I strongly oppose the development of the Long Hill Road property. First and foremost the proximity to the Middle Haddam Historic District is of concern. Traffic impact on Long Hill Road is a true safety concern , as it affects the road itself and the safety of the residents; especially the young children, and walkers. The Mine Brook runs under Long Hill Road, the conditions of that culvert could be jeopardized. Long Hill Road is an unfortunate through way to Rt. 151. The additional traffic impact would be huge for both ends of Long Hill Road.

Tone deaf and unthoughtful development is exactly what establishing historic district perimeters is for.

Please help us to preserve the integrity of Middle Haddam's Historic District by preventing this proposed development at the top of Long Hill Road. Thank you!
