This 'historic' inn, although altered by present owner, needs to be saved for our community. Too many pubs are closing. This is only in this situation because the owners didn't know what they were doing.

My father was briefly landlord of the Meynell in the early 60s since then it has had a fond place in my heart. Please keep the British local....

Its all gone very quiet on The Meynall . Any news on developments? I pass the pub most days and am always saddened to see what was once a popular place closed and boarded. Is the idea to let the place deteriorate so no one cares anymore? When you see what a success the new owners of the Red Lion have achieved with thought, hard work, good reasonable priced food it shows it can be done. As others have said on here The Meynall cannot be allowed to die. The place must now be haunted by old soles who can remember the centuries when it had an atmosphere only matched by a very few pubs and want it to be thriving again. Come on everyone let's try and force the issue and have The Meynall open for the summer.

We need this pub as a centre of our community . It is vital to re- open this pub . We live up the road and really miss the pub as a family place to go and also to meet friends and neighbours

I spent many happy years living in Hoar Cross, The Meynell was the hub of the village and should remain so!

It would be very sad if this lovely old pub was lost.
