The Melting Pot is a landmark for the city of Ocala and a tradition in the downtown square. Closing it and would be a devastating move not only for the community who loves the restaurant and all the regulars who have made the Melting Pot family their own family, but to the city's economy. It's one of the higher class restaurants in the area and the people that dine there know that the money they spend is well worth the unique experience. There's no other place that even compares to, not only the one of a kind experience and the memories that families take with them and have for a lifetime, but also the quality of the meal and the personal attention that each table receives from their server, which develops relationships. I cannot count the number of people that come in time and time again who request to be taken care of by the same person because they have had the chance to build that relationship with the servers and have actually made it into a friendship. That personal experience is so important to the whole atmosphere because it makes you feel comfortable and welcomed. A lot of the regulars come in and the servers already know their drinks of choice and their meal preferences because they've built those relationships and are on a first name basis with most of not all of the staff. There are very few other restaurants that can say they have that to offer. Not only for the families but for couples alike who choose to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays or even wedding proposals, which is a memory that someone will have for the rest of their lives, and they choose to do it at The Melting Pot because it's such a special place. People choose this restaurant because they know that it's like no other.

They signed a lease during the rock bottom of our economy and kept income coming in for the owners. Now the market has rebounded and the owners can get more money so you show your gratitude with kicking them to curb? The new eatery will go under in less than 24 months. Good luck.

We have had birthdays, dinner dates and anniversaries here ourselves. This is a special restaurant that needs to STAY. We DO NOT need another bbq place in Ocala!
