I attended the McCormack and remember when the namesake came during the dedication, around late 60's, early 70's!!!!!! Big parade, etc.

The McCormack family is truly special - I’ve never worked before (and since then) with such a talented and varied group of teachers and school staff doing so much with so little - always getting budget cuts, always absorbing kids kicked out of charter schools, always managing and healing the trauma of the young people who walk through their doors, turning them into fierce and proud leaders who fit their own mold and walk their own path in the world. This is something to be celebrated, not destroyed.

We support you and your fellow students. BPS and the mayor have failed to show compelling reasons for this school closing. They must do better.

In a democracy, decisions are made with the approval and consent of an informed citizenry. In the city that invented public school in gin this country, these actions are shameful as well as unacceptable.

Dmc, made me become the person I am today. The struggles I went through the hard work I put it was all because of dmc, meeting new people and connecting with teachers lead me in a better path in life and taught me to make the descions I make and what I do actually matter, it felt like I was special it’s a place like home. That’s why I chose dmc because there one of the best.

SAVE THE McCORMACK

We are SSSSOOOO TIRED of our most vulnerable students being thrown out of their school homes like yesterday’s trash. It’s unconscionable that you call yrselves professionals. I’m bawling now in Starbuck’s because my #BPS “fucked-up, immoral administration decision-making” PTSD is kicking in !!!

A school that has earned the devotion and love of its students should be held up as a model and invested in, not closed!

McCormick has been the best middle school for the last 3 years I been there I enjoyed it a lot when you’re in that school it doesn’t even feel like one it’s like a home for everyone you make a lot of friends teachers there are the best they try their best to make us feel like home and the education there is excellent especially in ms Avashia’s his class we talk about things that happens in the society thing from years ago we learn about things that other middle school omg even teach like about prison how to make it better the types of rights we need to learn and others teachers are great to like ms maizarz she’s a great math teacher for 8th grades and there’s a lot to say about the teachers they’re all brilliant and I would love to see the McCormick go on for years and so much more Thank you for taking your time to read -Eliane
