Atlanta needs a place like this. Not another apartment complex! I have so many memories there as do so many others. Can't we just leave this one alone.

The Masquerade is an iconic peice of Atlanta's history that was transformed into a entertainment venue to many bands . Bands that span the globe. Masquerade has brought artists and performers that are popular across the pond as well as popular in Europe as well . Such acts as VNV Nation just to name one have graced Heaven's stage and wowed audiences with their performances that moved many a fan. The Masquerade has a special place in my heart as well . So many memories . Such as 80's vs 90's nights have had me dancing on the floor,wherein other clubs I'd been the wallflower. The Masquerade's patrons and employees never judge you,they in fact embrace you being yourself .I've made many a friend. I have seen the likes of Faster Pussycat,Volbeat,Nightwish,LA Guns perform there too . The Masquerade is perhaps the only ALL Ages venue,allowing Georgia's future club goers a place to dance and create life long memories for years to come . I also miss the White Bus that used to be parked in the main parking area too. Hanging out with friends inside that bus,sharing what we just enjoyed was more than just cool. The Masquerade or Masq as it's called by the locals and fans of the venue brings many cultures together . No matter if your Hip Hop,Reggae ,Punk,Goth,Raver,or if you love the Mainstream the Masquerade welcomes one and all no matter what .

This is my favorite venue, the only venue where you can actually get close to who's playing. The place has character.

This place is a huge part of my past ive spent a lot of time here and have some of the best memories of my life here. My fiance proposed to me there as well, the place holds a lot of history for thousands and hearts will definitely break and our children will miss out on some great moments in their lives at one of the best venues ive ever been to. My daughter always says she cant wait to be old enough to go there for something.. that will never happen if you tear it down. Keep music and memories alive!

Not only has this place been a starting ground for many local musicians, but an incredible venue and hangout in Atlanta. Atlanta, ( in my opinion ) doesn't need any more condos just so a 50 odd people can move into inner city. Atlanta flourishes on the backs of these Venues. It's like tearing down the Coca Cola factory, The Tabernacle, The Fox, Variety Playhouse, Lakewood Amphitheater, Phillips, CNN center if they were going broke, you just don't do it. It's taboo, and frankly filled with all kinds of idiocy. These places not only attract suburbians outside the perimeter to to spend money in inner city.
My thing, put up condos in Atlanta, in DOWNTOWN of all places ( like anyone with money wants to live in a lower class section of the city ) it'll before closed and more than likely bought out by government aid programs within two years, and tah dah ... Atlanta has just one more crime filled neighborhood, smack in the middle. As if A.P.D. didn't have enough on their hands full already. No, Atlanta thrives on it's night life culture and history, always has, always will.
And my favorite part... Whose money are they really using to do this?? ( wink wink, nudge nudge, under the rug, say no more )

ive seen all my favourite bands here and played her myself. It's a piece of Atlanta music history. Don't tear it down.
