Matlacha needs to fix their septics and mind their own business, they only care about their dirty water and not the Manatees

The current situation with the lock has caused damage to my 49' Beneteau on three occassions. I must wait for high/low tide for the minimum current to have any chance of passing the lock.

The locks being open- post Ian, have produced much cleaner water , safer navigation and I’ve now seen my first manatee as far north as the coffee canal.

People are talking about repairing the lock, obviously they have not been to the lock, and are missing the point about the Manatee. Are they from Matlacha?

Just do something either way remove it or if that is going to take forever then just repair it. At present the city by doing nothing is making sure it can never be repaired. Why don't we all stop GABBING and just get onto get it done.

At the moment the city is doing nothing. If there are objections from Matlacha than just repair the lock and everybody will be happy with all issues settled. All it costs is money and the City of Cape Coral has plenty of that.

Our canal is the cleanest we have seen in over 20 years of living here in the SW Cape. Since Hurricane Ian destroyed the lock, the manatees, dolphins, fish and other wildlife are thriving here more than ever before. There has been no decrease in the water depth in the canals since the lock has been open since 9/28/23. Remove the lock permanently and disregard Matlacha’s input and weak arguments. They obviously don’t know what they’re talking about.

Water quality is the best I have seen in 20 Years. We have seen the most manatees in our canal ever. Removing the lock will substantially improve our environment!
