My wife was injured in the lock holding the boat line when the lock opened and water rushed in at a faster than normal pace. 22K to fix her shoulder.

No one in Cape Coral can even remember why the lock is there I’ve heard dozens of different stories, meanwhile our tax dollars have paid for an employee to operate that darn thing every day for years.

The environmental guy over in Matlacha seems to be on a weird crusade, he doesn’t say much about the rest of Cape Coral, our South spreader canals are the only system behind the lock, which is a complete irritation when trying to get out and enjoy boating, particularly during the season on the weekend.
Ultimately people everywhere around here just need to adhere to the yard fertilizer regulations and overall be conscientious regarding litter and wildlife awareness.

In addition to saving manatees, the lock as it stands, unrepsired and unworkable, is an extreme hazard to all boaters, but especially the less experienced. I have w seen boats wedged sideways and I am surprised there have not been more reports of injuries or at a minimum, boating accidents

It’s time! Why should be spend hard earned money to replace a lock that has become an environmental hazard? Doesn’t make sense.

The manatees deserve safe passage back to the open waters. The have been trapped and confused in round table lake
It's time to react-tear the lock down!
