The trees are what makes this park so wonderful. So many kids come here after school to hang out with their friends and it would be a shame for the govt. to take that special place from them.

There are many other things that could be fixed with the cost it would take to tear these trees down.

I value the shade in Honoka’a park. I walk my dog under the trees in Honoka’a park. The trees are a great relief when it’s so warm in Paauha.

Surely, there are ways to preserve most or all of the Cuban Mahogany Trees at Honoka'a Park.
Careful trimming and limb support can incease safety without removing the trees.
I can't imagine Honokaa without these trees....PLEASE SAVE THE TREES

Please save the trees. They beautify the park, cool and filter the air, stop erosion, and provide shelter for wildlife.

These trees are historic and should be preserved for the community. They provide valuable shade and reprieve for users of the parks/facilities.

Please consider alternatives to cutting down these trees. I’m often at the park and the trees provide much needed shade. Thank you!

Honokaa is proud of its heritage. The beautiful trees in our historic park are part of our pride. Trees clean the air and make shade. Trees hold memories of our childhood and memories of our ancestors who made the town what it is today. Many of us have played and picnicked under those beautiful trees. Please do not take our memories.
