And paraphrasing the lyrics of a famous song: you don't know how much you love (someone/something) until its gone. And once it's gone, it's gone forever. No remedy available then. Sadly.

Rowed for the school myself In the past, why deny boys from other options of physical activity (rowers being the elite of the elite) passing an egg shaped ball once a week isn't everything ;)

Rowing has had such a positive influence on my child's life. Please reconsider this decision so others may continue to benefit.

Rowing is essential for all school children, it grows them into decent adults

Rowing is character building, young people working together as a team improves commitment, reliability and dedication, all things necessary to be successful in life. It is totally unfair to deprive students of this important activity.

Great team-based exercise, and an excellent alternative to ball sports; keep it.

For those children who are not good at team ball sports rowing is an excellent alternative, instilling teamwork, focus, discipline and yet is a great all round form of exercise which can continue for a lifetime

Rowing gives more dedication, determination, humility, strength in character, reliability, time management, concentration and focus. These attributes inspire the boys to be the best they possibly can each day whether it be in rowing or in their studies. Hopefully the governors can appreciate this and reconsider their decision. Rowing is an excellent asset to the school.

The Thames: superb sports and education facility open to millions of Londoners. Pity one of London's best schools wants to cut off the opportunities the river offers to its students.

Rowing not only enables boys to get fit in a non-contact sport, it teaches them commitment, teamwork and organisation.
It raises the profile of the School and it would be a great shame if the School could not allow the continuance of the rowing club, albeit funded by parental and other external support.

My son rows for the London Oratory School and is so proud of being a part of the boat club. As a family we ate reeling with shock, by the relentless insistence, that the boat club should close down.
Come on LOS - be proud of what our school has, that so many others wish to emulate!

Very committed boys and coaches who truly love the sport. Would be a shame to discontinue the rowing club after boys showing such dedication and constant training.
