Rowing is such an inclusive sport it would be a massive shame to see access to it limited

LOSBC is an excellent boat club and resource - enriching lives and enhancing the school reputation. We need to save this club for now and future generations.

This would be a real blow to the reputation of LOS. It cannot be undone. Think carefully of the unseen consequences before doing it please

Rowing has so many far reaching benefits. It is hard to understand why the Governors would not continue to support it at the Oratory. The short term funding is in place and there is no doubt that the passion involved will contribute to, if not fulfil, the longer term requirements. Rowing must and should not be exclusive to the private sector.

Crazy to remove such a great British sport from the curriculum when so many are interested in it.

Over 40 years ago I started LOS rowing, there were no funds available then so I purchased a mini bus to get the boys to regattas. I personally subsidised their rowing and it started to succeed. Some of these boys, in fact a high percentage, remain actively engaged in rowing. I was delighted to see that finally the school funded something that was a little special, empowering state school boys to row and compete at the highest level. This did not happen overnight it was due to a lot of hard work by a few dedicated people over a long period of time. I ask, no plead with the Governors to review their decision and at the very least go down to the river and watch what you seek to destroy, look into the eyes of the boys rowing, even if you don't understand rowing I think you will see a passion and dedication seldom seen these days. Please look beyond the financial angle as you will be losing a pound for every penny gained. Please keep LOS growing through rowing.

My grandsons have really benefitted from the rowing at LOS - it would be such a shame to see it come to an end.

If funds are there, Why prevent students from rowing? Killing students filled with dreams, and doing self harm to your reputation. Let the kids row, compete, and have fun! Tremendous sport, & tremendous education for the upcoming generation. Don't break people': dreams for the wrong reasons. Go Go Rowing Champs! You can do it!

If ways can be found to raise the funds it seems only fair that the decision to end the rowing programme be suspended with a view to cancelled in favour of continuing the programme

A fantastic sport to have the opportunity to be involved in, for so many different reasons. No doubt, hard fought to secure as part of the curriculum offer in the first instance surely we'll worth fighting for now. Good luck.

If the money has been raised then the rowing club should stay. It's a great sport for the boys.

It would be fantastic to continue with this sport for the boys.. they are representing the school in such a positive way; as a team. A real shame to close it down.

Whilst accepting schools are facing huge financial pressures, this decision makes no sense. The funds are there and so is the passion. The success of the club has been due to a huge effort over the years by coaches, parents and boys. This clearly still exists. I urge the governors to give the support group the breathing space to now secure a sustainable plan.

My son and I really think that continuing the rowing opportunities at the Oratory is important. My son has been with the school since Junior house and is currently in 1st form. He is not a big Rubgby, Football or Waterpolo player and has been looking forward to Rowing as his chance to shine. Diversity in the sporting curriculum at the Oratory is VERY important for children and their sense of achievement. Please continue with rowing.

Why do you want to cut boys fom this sport activity if the parents collected enough funds to keep it going for a year.

Please don't take this away from a group who so clearly want it to continue. Rowing is a fantastic sport for all, a wonderful way to promote a healthy mind and body, build life long friendships, and have fun!
