Funds have been raised so how can this decision be justified?

One of the strengths of LOS is the variety of sports on offer for the boys e.g. Rugby, Water Polo, Rowing, Cricket It's important that this is maintained, regardless of how it is funded

We should encourage young people to follow their passion

If private funding was provided to continue this activity, there is no reason why it should be stopped next year.

Both my oldest two boys have enjoyed rowing at LOS and I was hoping that my youngest son who joins the school in September would also have that opportunity. Its amazing that fundraisers have raised enough money to keep the club running for 2017/2018. It would be great to keep the club going even if its only offered as an after school option once a week. I would be happy to pay a membership fee for the club or pay for rowing lessons., I would also be happy to help out fundraising.

Rowing is my passion and will be for a long time because of the oratory. I want that to stay for future pupils in the school as it's given me determination, motivation and a love of sport.

My God Son rows for the LOS. He loves it and has put in so much time and effort. Let him and his friends keep rowing .

The benefits of the rowing programme to the boys and the school are countless. The school should be proud of its rowing achievements. It is absolutely disgraceful that the governors did not consult with parents of the school and have made no attempts to communicate decisions to them. They are not acting in the best interest of our children and this is simply not acceptable. The boat club support group and parents have raised sufficient money to fund the rowing programme for at least another academic year. It is time for the governors to take note and rethink their decision.

I really think that the rowing is an important feature of a great secondary school and I would be ready to help fund the rowing for the next years.

Epic achievements by the lads. A true pity to cast them adrift.

Our sons have done so well academically at the LOS but we sent them to the LOS in order to form their characters. Rowing has been such a positive influence in the character formation of one of our sons due to the LOSBC coaches understanding and knowing who he truely is.

This is an experience that should not be cut out of this school as is a rewarding and important sport for these boys to take part in

Such a great offer which makes the school unique. Give the support group a chance to self fund.

What a relief for the private schools if rowing stops at the oratory. Let's keep it going!

Rowing should be for all, when I was at school I paired with a member of LOSBC at GB Trials, and races against them for 5 years. It would be a huge shame for the boatclub to cease to exist, especially after performing at such a high level in recent years.
